DefCamp 2024
About DefCamp
DefCamp began in 2011 as a small gathering among friends passionate about information security. What started as an intimate meetup quickly evolved into the largest and most important cybersecurity and hacking conference in Central and Eastern Europe.
Why Attend DefCamp?
On May 16-17, 2024, DefCamp organized its first spin-off edition in Cluj-Napoca. Nearly 400 infosec enthusiasts gathered in one of Romania’s top tech hubs to discuss the latest in cybersecurity.
Now, preparations are in full swing for the 2024 edition in Bucharest. With boundless enthusiasm, we’re setting up the logistics to reunite the community under one roof once again.

Highlights from DefCamp 2024
Talks That Made an Impact
Microsoft Copilot Exploitation: This talk by Inbar Raz delved into the vulnerabilities of AI-powered tools like Microsoft Copilot. Key lessons included risks of prompt injection attacks and the manipulation of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Attendees learned best practices for securing sensitive data in platforms like Teams and SharePoint by configuring Copilot properly and implementing sensitivity labels.
Mobile Pentesting Revolution: Ionut Morosan introduced the Massive Mobile Security Framework (MMSF), a tool that simplifies mobile app testing while enhancing efficiency. This session was highly practical and inspiring for students exploring mobile security.
Practical Hands-On Experiences
Trace Labs’ OSINT Search Party CTF: A highlight for our team was participating in this real-world task of finding intel on missing persons. Combining technical skills with a meaningful cause, our team managed to uncover crucial information in both cold and recent cases, securing 7th and 10th place in the rankings.
Physical Security Workshop: The thrill of learning lockpicking was an unforgettable experience. Participants were introduced to the craft of cracking locks by identifying pin positions using tactile feedback instead of algorithms—a true test of precision and focus.
CoderDojo CTF Victory: Ramon Mateaș and Mark Dragotă managed to win the Cyber Dojo CTF, an individual beginner-focused competition hosted by CoderDojo.
Connecting with the Cybersecurity Community
